End Of An Era

Filed under: General,Local — Ed That Goes Ping @ 7:12 am

My favorite local wifi spot ever, the “It’s a Grind Cafe” up on Knapp Street and East Beltline, is closing. Tomorrow is its last day. I am hella sad.

I guess the real estate in this strip mall is just too expensive for them to renew their lease.

Too bad, it’s a very popular shop. They never seem to be hurting for customers.

  1. Dude that sucks. I’m at the one downtown right now due to power outage, and I’m liking it just fine. It’s the first time I’ve spent any amount of time here. I’m assuming the two are related somehow, could be wrong.

  3. That is not cool. I used to go there all the time. But from what I hear that strip mall is not cheap and does not get much traffic because it is so back off the road. that place is so nice looking and the staff is great. Are they going to move to a different location?

  4. That’s a shame. I tend to prefer coffee shops in more residential locations, but it was good to have it there.

  5. They’re supposed to have a new place in six months, but it seems doubtful they’ll be able to keep any of the staff with a gap like that.

    There’s a signup email address in the shop if you want to be kept up to date on the new location. I can’t find it right now but if I do I’ll post it here.

  6. “Do not go gentle into that good night,
    Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
    Rage, rage against the dying of the light.”

    Adios IAG, with apologies to Dylan Thomas.
