WordPress Security Update

WordPress Security Update: It’s an easy fix:

You can upgrade by overwriting your old 1.5 files or if you would like to apply the fix manually it is relatively simple:

Open the wp-includes/template-functions-category.php file in a text editor like Wordpad.
Go to around line 103 where it says get_the_category_by_ID.
Create a new line after that and paste in $cat_ID = (int) $cat_ID;

Another Little Tune

Put together another little tune, in Garageband this time, because I can’t use the cool open source tools I’d been using since they’re broken on OS X 10.4. :(

Returning.

Nothin’ special, I just share my musical doodling cause I believe in sharing stuff one creates with friends, even if it’s really amateur.

Politic Apology

I can’t believe how much I’ve been posting about politics these days. It’s all things that seem like they ought to be publicized, but I thought I’d shaken the habit of regurgitating outrages in my blog. Apparently I haven’t quite. Apologies to anyone who was happy I had gotten over it and is disappointed in the relapse.

Clearly We Need More Conservative Judges

Like this one, to help preserve freedom in America.

In a divorce case between two parents who practice the Wiccan religion, a judge spontaneously introduced into the divorce degree a provision that neither of the parents expose the child to “non-mainstream” religious beliefs.

That’s right, the judge banned either of the parents from exposing the child to the religion they shared. The judge was following the suggestion of the “Domestic Relations Counseling Bureau, which provides recommendations to the court on child custody and visitation rights.” The Bureau had worried about the confusion caused by the “discrepancy” between the parents’ religion and the “belief system” adhered to by the Catholic school the boy happened to attend.

The religion of the parents had to be suppressed by court order because it conflicted with the religion of the boy’s school.

Every time I think it’s safe to read the news, they come up with something even more depressing.

On the flip side, everyone involved in the case seems to think it’ll be trivial to get this overturned. But that it happened in the first place is pretty sad.

“Then they came for the Wiccans, and I did not speak out because I was not a Wiccan…”

Timetable of Lies

We’re in Iraq right now, with Americans dying every day, because the President lied to get us there. We have documentary proof of the lies. Nobody cares much. The Left guessed this stuff was true long ago; it’s not news to them. The Right… I don’t know. I don’t really understand it.

But just in case you have some morbid curiosity about it, here’s a timetable of what Bush was saying to the American people at a given moment compared to what he was saying behind closed doors to Tony Blair and company.
