The best way of guessing what Bush will do is asking, what’s the worst thing he could do to America? Whatever it is, that’s what he’ll do. I think he’s been possessed by bin Laden, because everything he’s done has been exactly what Al Quaeda hoped for. Right now, bin Laden is praying to Allah that we’ll be stupid enough to attack Iran. That would be the cherry on his halal sundae, the one thing that could actually finish us off as a Superpower.

The War Nerd is my hero.

For the last few years Grand Rapids has been plastered with billboards trying to get you to take Cornerstone University seriously.  Apparently the reasoning is that those billboards were cheaper than actually having tenured professors.

Next logical step: outsource all teaching jobs to call centers in India!

Obama row hits Howard – National – theage.com.au

Prime Minister of Australia: “Obama opposed the troop surge in Iraq.  I bet the terrorists sure hope he wins the presidency in ’08”

Barack Obama: “Tough talk from a guy who’s only got 1400 of his own troops in Iraq when we’ve got 140,000 already.  Let him pony up 20,000 for his own damn surge and then we can talk.”

Those are my own paraphrases, not actual quotes.  Point is, Obama isn’t going to just sit back and take it when people try to slander him.  That’s a point in his favor over Kerry.  Poor Kerry.  I think he would have been a great candidate if he’d told his handlers, “bite me,” and defended himself from the right-wing lie machine.  Hearing this from Obama gives me some hope he’d be a good candidate in 08.

I mean, I think ’08 is a Democratic shoo-in anyway, but then, I thought that about ’04 for a while so I don’t want to get too cocky.
